After finishing our breakfast, we each commandeered a stall in our respective restrooms to change into our super-hero biker alter egos. Feeling way too full, a bit sleepy, and slightly chilled, we set off with the goal of making it to Moose, WY in Grand Teton National Park.
Only we learned that there was no camping in Moose…
It was dark by the time we reached our second divide crossing. That meant still had about seven miles to ride in the dark! To make things worse, our riding glasses only have one shade: dark. And as if that weren't enough, the temperature started to plummet and I had to pee!
After our grand tour of the north loop with Sathish took all of yesterday, we decided to spend another day in West Yellowstone just to work on the blog and bikes. I had the usual maintenance of cleaning and oiling the chain, adjusting the brakes, and trying to fine tune the derailleurs (fussing with the way the gears shift). April went to work on the articles for the blog and editing and uploading the videos…
This morning when I woke up, I didn't feel very good. My head felt kind-of like a constant head rush and my tummy felt a little funny. I just wanted to go back to bed..but we were supposed to meet Sathish at 9am.
Nathan got up and made me special cinnamon, nutmeg, oatmeal pancakes with the ingredients he found in the church kitchen. What a wonderful hubby! Eating the pancakes helped me feel a lot better. Maybe I was just hungry??
After breakfast we headed over to the Youth Hostel where Sathish was staying to meet up with him and head into the park.
We slept well last night, and that was really nice. After pop tarts and oatmeal, I called the man who emailed us last night, Ed, to see if we could stay at the church for the next 2 nights, and he said "sure".
That is fabulous news! At the rate things were going, West Yellowstone could have become a money pit for us, but now we had some free lodging. Phew!
